GOUDY ENGINEERING, INC. is an Arizona Corporation specializing in corrosion mitigation and control, including annual surveying. Since our establishment, GOUDY ENGINEERING, INC. has been involved 100% in corrosion control throughout the United States. We are a General class A contractor, licensed, insured and bonded.  Our office is located in Tucson, Arizona.

In addition to corrosion mitigation and control, GOUDY ENGINEERING, INC. performs annual gas leak surveys,  and non-destructive vacuum excavation services. These services are primarily performed for construction companies and miscellaneous housing companies.

Qualifications of Key Employees

PRESIDENT - Kevin C. Goudy

Kevin C. Goudy graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and is a NACE International certified Cathodic Protection Specialist.  Mr. Goudy is President and co-owner of Goudy Engineering, Inc.  Mr. Goudy joined Goudy Engineering, Inc. in 1989 and brings years of corrosion experience to every project that Goudy Engineering, Inc. is associated with.  

Mr. Goudy’s corrosion engineering responsibilities include: performance of  corrosivity studies and evaluations; computerized corrosion tests needed to analyze both the level of corrosion activity and criterion for mitigating corrosion; design of cathodic protection systems based upon field test results and required calculations; determine need for a passive or active cathodic protection system based upon computerized field data analysis; troubleshoot existing cathodic protection systems; interference problems with foreign lines and various stray current effects; locate, excavate, evaluate and mitigate corrosion effects on any metallic structure.

 

Harlan C. Goudy

Harlan C. Goudy is a Registered Professional Engineer and a NACE International certified Corrosion Specialist.  Mr. Goudy  brings decades of knowledge of pipeline construction and corrosion experience to each and every project that Goudy Engineering, Inc. is associated with. 

 Mr. Goudy has been directly responsible for corrosion studies, various close interval surveys, design and installation of corrosion monitoring systems and cathodic protection systems.  This work includes thousands of miles of DIP, CCP and PCCP water lines throughout the Western United States on more than hundreds of projects for the Bureau of Reclamation, water districts and municipalities, as well as water treatment plants, nuclear plants and storage tanks.

 Mr. Goudy has utilized his knowledge to resolve corrosion problems on pre-stressed and pre-tensioned concrete cylinder pipeline projects through close-interval-surveys; soil resistivities; pipe-to-soil potentials; cell-to-cell and current density tests.  Tucson Water first utilized his close interval survey in 1987 to locate corroded joints on a 42” CCP pipeline.

HEAD TECHNICIAN - James "Bud" Abbott

James has been employed by Goudy Engineering, Inc. since 1988. James is a NACE certified Corrosion Technologist and  has been working with underground utilities for over more than 15 years. 

James is a highly skilled Corrosion Technologist.  His experience allows him to be highly efficient and accurate in troubleshooting numerous issues including rectifier malfunction, pipeline isolation, and failing cathodic protection systems.
